11:40 AM Creating the Governing Framework for Successful Digital Transformation

As the leader for all Government operations, the ACT Government is working to establish a framework for government to modernise their ICT systems in order to be able to provide an enhanced citizen experience. To date this has involved; creating a whole of government data management practice, championing and delivering digital services to the community, building agility in government through the introduction of DevOps and Agility and fostering of cloud services across government. In this session Director of Digital Transformation Christo Norman will cover:

  • The shift in culture required for successful digital transformation
  • The process and importance of establishing a framework to understand what staff expect from IT
  • Overcoming monolithic and labyrinthine IT systems of the past and implementing responsive and agile systems for the future
  • How the ACT Government has been applying ideas from big business eg. Amazon to maximise the benefits of data
